CHOICE AND EDUCATION
Some years ago, shortly after finishing secondary school, I secured a Canadian visa and a job offer. At the time, I was working as a sales representative at a pharmacy and had secretly saved up for travel expenses. I kept my plans entirely hidden from my parents, siblings, and friends, quietly preparing for my departure.
A few months before I was set to leave, an Igbo man a medicine supplier to the pharmacy sat me down and shared his life story. He recounted how he had once grown wealthy importing medicines from Dubai to Nigeria, only to lose everything because he signed critical investment documents without fully understanding them due to his limited literacy. He told me he had observed me for some time and noticed my intelligence and diligence. His advice was clear: “Make education your top priority it will give you an edge in any life plan you pursue.
That conversation changed everything. I canceled my trip and instead singlehandedly sponsored my education, eventually earning a BSc in Accounting.
Life has a funny way of unfolding. God’s design for our lives often diverges from what we imagine. Sometimes, we need to let go of our own plans and trust Him to guide our path.
Today, I’m still open to traveling the world but this time, armed with the power of education and accompanied by my beautiful family.
Until the moment when will shall dance in white Greater Grace.
