BE LIKE SALT
One of my weaknesses is my tendency to overcommit to work. I often pour myself into my job to the detriment of family and personal health, becoming overly zealous about meeting deadlines, appointments, and workloads.
However, a positive aspect of this dedication is that I strive to make myself indispensable, like salt. At every job I’ve left, no matter how much others downplayed my role, my absence was deeply felt. Just as salt is invisible in a dish but its absence ruins the flavor, my contributions though sometimes overlooked in the moment leave a void when I’m gone.
This taught me a valuable lesson. Strive to be like salt in your family, work, and community. People may take your constant presence for granted, but when you’re no longer there, your absence changes everything. Make yourself valuable, no matter how small or unnoticed your role seems. Leave a meaningful footprint in everything you do. Let those who undervalued you realize how much you mattered.
Salt isn’t seen, but its absence is unmistakable. Be the kind of person whose value is felt long after you’ve moved on.
Until the moment when will shall dance in white Greater Grace.
