STARTING SMALL FOR GREATNESS

Starting small is the first step to greatness. While many large-scale ventures begin with inheritance, not everyone has that privilege. If you don’t, work smart with the resources you have. I know people who started with tiny roadside kiosks repairing phones and laptops today, they own multimillion-naira shops in Wuse II.

Starting small is challenging. It requires belief in your vision, relentless focus, and perseverance through countless failures. History shows that many projects ridiculed at their inception now save the world at a billion-dollar scale. You only fail if you convince yourself to quit.

When you begin, expect skepticism. People may mock you, call your efforts childish, or flaunt their wealth to intimidate you. Ignore them. Focus on what lies ahead. Success alone earns celebration.

I once knew a businessman who started a thriving building materials venture, with tippers and lorries delivering goods daily. Every weekend, crowds celebrated with him at bars, draining his resources under the guise of camaraderie. Today, he works as a security guard, abandoned by those "friends."

Be wise with your humble beginnings. Don’t let others belittle your efforts. Avoid flashing early wins to impress others let success speak for itself.

Want to own a school? Begin as a tutor in your neighborhood.
Dream of a multinational corporation? Rent a small space or start from your room.

You can thrive in simplicity. One woman earns over ₦300k monthly delivering akamu (pap) to estates, branded with unique flavors: garlic-infused, millet-based, and more. Another earns 450k as a salary worker but sells zobo (hibiscus drink) at roundabouts every weekend.

I once met an old school friend selling clothes from a roadside bale. She tried to hide when she saw me, but I hugged her, chatted, and encouraged her. Today, she owns a beautiful shop.

If you can start big, do so. If not, start small but stay unique, persistent, and resilient.

Until the moment when will shall dance in white Greater Grace.
