THE BEAUTY OF ART
There is nothing wrong with art or the act of creating it. The world itself is a masterpiece of divine artistry. Our bodies, for instance, are among the most exquisite artistic designs imaginable. Many people, myself included, are gifted with innate artistic talent. I was born with what I believe to be the purest of artistic gifts though I chose not to pursue it professionally.
The danger lies not in art itself, but in misusing it to replace God. His glory belongs to Him alone and should never be attributed to anything created, no matter how magnificent. Sadly, I’ve heard of communities where Christians, misguided in their zeal, destroy generational art centers, claiming no "worldly" art should exist. But burning art is not the answer. The battle is against the misuse of art, not the art itself. When centuries old creations are erased, future generations lose a connection to beauty and heritage. Imagine your children traveling to Europe or elsewhere, captivated by the art they were taught to destroy at home.
Art ranks among the five most valuable possessions in the world, stored in the most heavily secured locations. This reflects its profound role in human expression and history.
Ultimately, art is intrinsic to who we are and the world we inhabit. It is a reflection of God’s creativity, a gift meant to inspire awe at His supremacy. Let us honor it without idolizing it, preserving its beauty while keeping our reverence for the Creator above all.
Until the moment when will shall dance in white Greater Grace.
