BIOGRAPHY OF PASTOR W.F.KUMUYI

Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi.

Born June 6, 1941, in Erin-Ijesha, Osun State, Nigeria.

Education: Earned a First-Class Honours degree in Mathematics from the University of Ibadan (1967). Later lectured in Mathematics at the University of Lagos.

Spiritual Journey: Experienced a profound Christian conversion in 1964 while at university. Deeply influenced by holiness teachings and a desire for personal purity and biblical truth.

Founding of Deeper Life: In 1973, while still a university lecturer, he started a Bible study group focused on personal holiness and deep scriptural understanding with 15 university students. This small group grew rapidly.

Transition to Full-Time Ministry: The growth and spiritual impact of the Bible study group led him to leave his academic career in 1978 to focus entirely on ministry. The group formally became Deeper Christian Life Ministry (now Deeper Life Bible Church).

Leadership:He has served as the General Superintendentof Deeper Life Bible Church since its inception.

Status: Married to Sister Esther Kumuyi. He is widely respected as a global Christian leader, known for his disciplined life, humility, and expository preaching.

1.  Founding a Global Church: Grew the Deeper Life Bible Church from a 15-member campus Bible study into one of the largest Pentecostal denominations in the world, with millions of members across Nigeria and over 100 countries globally.
