MOTHERHOOD NOT BARRIER TO EDUCATION

It’s puzzling when young mothers say, Since I didn’t go to school, I’ll train my children to the highest level.
But here’s the real question; If you have the resources to educate four children to any level, what’s stopping YOU from furthering your own education.

I recently spoke with a bright woman in her 30s with great WAEC results who made this exact statement. When I asked why she hadn’t pursued further education, she had no concrete answer. This hesitation reflects a deeper issue; we often prioritize our children’s futures while neglecting our own potential.

Abuja for example offers accessible pathways for every mother to advance her education.
✅ Distance Learning: University of Abuja, NOUN, and Zuba College of Education offer flexible degrees.
✅ Financial Support: Apply for the Federal Government Student Loan Scheme.
✅ Work-Study Balance: Many institutions cater to working professionals.

Education isn’t just about wealth it’s about leverage. It sharpens your mind, reveals opportunities, and equips you to navigate a complex world.
Even informal roles now demand critical thinking. I’ve seen Embassy cleaners earning ₦6M/year because they’re graduates. Driver applicants required to write 200-word essays on their goals.
No serious organization hires those who can’t articulate basic ideas.
Want to sell akara Education helps you manage costs, track profits, and scale your business.

Being a mother isn’t a full stop it’s a catalyst. Your children don’t just need your sacrifices; they need to see you grow. How can you transfer the value of education if you haven’t embraced it yourself. Your journey inspires theirs.

If you can invest in four children’s futures, you owe it to yourself and them to reclaim your own. Education isn’t selfish; it’s strategic. Upgrade your toolkit, and you lift your entire family.

Stop waiting. Start learning.

Until the moment when will shall dance in white Greater Grace.
