THE 2023 PRESIDENTIAL RACE BETRAYAL
The biggest betrayal in the 2023 presidential race wasn't Tinubu, Wike, or Peter Obi it was Atiku. The race should have been Wike or Peter Obi flying the PDP flag against Tinubu on the APC ticket.
Obi supporters (Obedients) think Wike betrayed them, but the real betrayal came from Atiku. After President Buhari's 8 years, it was only right for a Southerner to take over, given our nation's deep divisions along tribal and religious lines. The APC did the right thing by zoning their ticket to the South. Tinubu wasn't even Buhari's preferred candidate, but he opened the field for all Southern contenders to compete. Key Northern APC figures actively blocked any Northern candidates from challenging the Southern field.
But the PDP went for the money bag (Atiku). Atiku had no business contesting in 2023. Peter Obi saw the writing on the wall and left for the Labour Party. Wike fought the battle to the very end. He actually had the upper hand until the last minute of the PDP primaries when the gang-up happened.
Tinubu did nothing wrong by winning the election. If Tinubu hadn't won, Atiku would have taken power after Buhari's 8 years. Let's not forget. Wike was the only top PDP figure consistently fighting the Buhari administration throughout. Others, like those chairing reconciliation committees, abandoned the party to dance with Buhari including Atiku himself.
After Wike's failure at the PDP primary, he secretly bankrolled most Southern candidates, including Labour Party candidates. That's why you'll never see Peter Obi speak badly of him. Tinubu, however, was smart enough to strike a direct deal with Wike.
Wike was left alone fighting a battle that all Southern voters should have fought against the PDP. The PDP ticket should have been a contest between Wike and Peter Obi at the primary. Whichever lost should have supported the winner to challenge Tinubu. Instead of PDP now reaching out to Peter Obi and apologizing, they want to play another destructive game. Planning to run the Governor of Oyo State (Seyi Makinde) as a candidate is secretly helping Atiku by splitting the APC's Western votes and favoring a potential Atiku/Amaechi coalition ticket. Amaechi is already being positioned as the VP choice for that coalition.
Which Southern candidate would PDP even bring out now that would agree to a single Southern term Because by 2031, the Presidency must return to the North to maintain unity. Atiku's 2023 candidacy backed the PDP into a corner. Now, the same Atiku has left the PDP again looking for another platform, as always.
As of today, President Tinubu will win in 2027 unless the PDP brings the forces (like Peter Obi & Kwankwaso) then they might and maybe have a good goal. Also they need bring back other powerful figures they sidelined to favour Atiku's endless ambition.
Seyi Makinde's potential candidacy is a plan to damage the APC's Western votes and favour the Atiku/Amaechi coalition.
This na my "childish" analysis for now.
Until the moment when will shall dance in white Greater Grace.
