MY AfCFTA Advocacy
In 2021, I joined youth advocates across Africa to champion the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Since then, the AfCFTA has grown into a $3.4 trillion market, uniting 54 African countries in trade collaboration.
Historically, African nations primarily engaged through forums like the U.S.-Africa, Europe-Africa, and China-Africa Economic Summits.
Our advocacy has helped propel some African economies toward trillion-dollar status. I was thrilled to see Kenya celebrate its first export of cattle to Nigeria a symbol of intra-African trade progress.
High tariffs and border barriers across Africa must be dismantled. Just as the European Union uses the Euro, Africa should pursue a single currency and payment system to eliminate current transaction barriers.
We believe in Africa and will continue supporting its development. Even if we don’t directly benefit, we strive for a stronger Africa beyond our lifetimes.
My advocacy for the AfCFTA continues.
Until the moment when will shall dance in white Greater Grace.
